Q: I have to hand over my phone? How is that safe? How do I know you won't keep my device or steal my info? What am I supposed to use while it's being fixed?
A: This is a completely understandable and valid concern. Please click here to view my detailed response and my commitment to providing you a genuine and reliable service.
Q: Why am I being charged a Back Glass Insurance fee?
A: For Samsung repairs that do not include a back glass replacement, a $10 insurance fee is applied to cover the increased handling risk. If your back glass is damaged during the repair, this fee will be used to cover the cost of a repalcement back glass. If a repalcement back glass is not needed, this fee will be subtracted from your final invoice.
Q: What if my phone model or my repair is not listed as an option?
A: The devices listed above are the models where part availability are relatively strong, which helps me offer very competitve pricing. If you'd like, feel free to send me an email (nycmobilemedic@gmail.com) with your device and repair details and I'd be happy to follow up with more info.
Q: What's the difference between OEM and High-Quality Aftermarket parts?
A: OEM parts are directly from the original manufacturer and match the same exact standards as the parts your device came with. Aftermarket parts come from a third party vendor that still closely match or exceed the quality of original parts but offer a significantly higher value.
Q: Will Aftermarket parts cause any noticable differences to my device?
A: The Aftermarket parts I source are meant to closely or exactly match the quality of your orignal part in terms of resolution, brightness, battery capacity, etc. Apple is pretty anti-repair when it comes to using aftermarket parts but the overall functionality should not be affected. You may notice a notification in your Settings app that says your part could not be verified as an authentic Apple part. Again, in no way does this affect the usability of your device or replacement part.
Q: How long will my repair take?
A: Aftermarket parts take about 2-3 days to arrive. OEM parts can take 5-7 business days. Once your device is handed over, depending on scheduling availability, the repair will either be completed the same day or the next.
Q: Do you only repair smartphones? What about laptops, iPads, or game consoles?
A: My repair experience extends far beyond just smartphones! I have also done countless repairs on all kinds of devices like MacBooks, Windows laptops, iPads, Apple Watches, Xboxes, Playstations, Nintendo Switches, and more! My plan is to eventually offer some of these services in the future but there are 3 things that need to be worked out. Those are shipping cost, part sourcing, and repair equipment. Current total shipping cost for smartphones is about $30 for travel and materials but larger items like game consoles and laptops would be significantly higher. As for part sourcing, I am currently able to source all my items from 3 main vendors but adding on so many more device options would require a lot of research to find a vendor(s) that offers quality and affordable parts. Lastly, certain devices require more sophisticated repair equipment that can get pretty pricey so unless I am able to use quality and reliable tools, I will not be putting customer devices at risk.
Q: What if my questions isn't listed?
